My name is Tony Davis, I was born and raised in Lexington, coming from very humble beginnings. While in junior high school I was 18 years old in the 7th grade, failing this grade multiple times! I resided just off of North Limestone and Loudon Ave.
I as well served my great country while enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. My service to my country, what & how they taught me is second to none. I'm proud to be an American! I strive to set the example on leadership and in giving through my work. Through my craft I am driven to give and expand my reach in my community by supporting education, health and human services. I hope in doing so will create a sense of stronger community and drive my philanthropist goals. Winston Churchill said ''that you make a living by what you get, but you make a life by what you give.''
My craft started in my backyard barn as a hobbyist handcrafting gifts from bourbon barrels and other virgin woods. It wasn't until my encounter at a stop light which had a time clock ticker counting the days down to the 2010 World Equestrian Games here in Lexington Kentucky. From that moment I knew I was destined to share Kentucky's story and tell what Kentucky Knows so well, but sharing our story from a bourbon barrel by creating a brand that shares our history, culture and it's people, calling it Kentucky Knows.
My goal is to create an emotional and memorable experience through my craft just as gift giving should be. Come by and allow me to share over 100 years of Lexington's first bourbon experience through my handcrafted visions. I'm working to earn my name in the barrel just as those before.
Most importantly I am working to contribute my place in the community through my visions of artistic imagination by donating and recycling of materials. I will continue to do this by being innovative and supporting education for our generations to come. In a sense I am unconventional, meaning I am not bound by a board of directors governing who I can or cannot support; in other words if it's for good cause count me in.
Doing the right thing and not for recognition or celebrity, but doing it just because it's the right thing to do! This way of life gives me hope and purpose!
I believe during uncertain times can be a test to character and its character that will carry my beliefs forward, setting my visions apart from the norm! I am; "Chasing the American dream, not the competition.''
